HEALTH AND WELLNESS

As camp owners and physicians, our priority is to maintain the health and safety of our entire camp community to the greatest extent possible. To that end, our state of the art medical infrastructure with an extremely professional staff is uniquely equipped to recognize, diagnose and treat medical issues that arise as expeditiously and effectively as possible. This enables your child to enjoy what they love most: their friends, counselors and activities. “Camp medicine” differs from “real world medicine.” Living in a communal environment creates easier spread of infections and a short window to treat them.

As physician/owners the level of medical expertise we offer is unparalleled in the camping industry. We have two modern air-conditioned medical facilities that include separate pharmacies, asthma treatment rooms, triage sections and sophisticated amenities for outpatient and inpatient medical care. The boys health center was renovated and remodeled in 2016 and the girls health center was newly constructed in 2017. Strict protocols such as Epi-pen and defibrillator use as well as all aspects of medicine are managed by our extensive and highly experienced staff that includes a medical director, three to four on-site physicians at a time, 12 – 14 registered nurses, an EMT and health center administrators. Our physicians are pediatric emergency room, family care doctors and pediatricians. Camp readily can access three area hospitals and local specialists as well as EMS located close to camp. Additionally, we are fortunate to have a new urgent care medical center in Copake, just 5 minutes from camp.
